Easy like Sunday Morning

If it's one good thing about getting humiliated in the Weekly Torture Chamber, it's being able to climb into my Humans' bed. This morning, I got to do just that!

Sunday morning with Momma and me

I don't know... something about the bed just makes it so comfortable. I'm not sure if it's the comfy smell of my Humans, or the softness of their blanket, or the fact that they like to cuddle me a lot when I'm up there, but it's like the best place in the world. Every time I'm up there, I don't really want to leave!

"What? Is it time to get out of bed already?"

Shoe Party!

Grandpa invited a whole bunch of his old school friends over the other night, and there were lots of humans gathered at our place. But they didn't really show me lots of attention at all, which was really odd. The Beagle from down the road said maybe it's because their eyesight wasn't so good and they thought I was a rug or something. And humans never pay attention to rugs. Yeah, that must be it.

Sounding lousy so far? There is a bright side to this story:

One two, sniff those shoes!
Three four, I want some more!

They brought along a lot of shoes so I got to sniff a whole lot of shoe goodness! Juicy!

New graphics and Pops' new blog

Have you guys noticed all the new graphics around my blog? Yes! I finally whined enough that Pops gave in and helped me do up some pretty pictures. Poor Pops has been pretty busy lately, between school and starting up a new blog of his own together with some friends called Revo-Emag. He was so overworked, I helped him write a blog post. My first one was about the new Sonic game! You can check out the video below... it looks awesome!

Anyway, if you like movies, videogames and music then you should check out Pops' new blog. I'm not too excited about the games and stuff... there are hardly any videogames out there that are dog-friendly! All these silly controllers are so thumb-dependent! Hiew hiew hiew!

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but I've been unable to blog so much the last couple of weeks because Pops was hogging the computer for his new blog. Now that it's up and running, he'll have no excuse not to let me blog and catch up with you guys! Yay!

PS Updated the video link so it should work again! Although even the smallest size eats into my side bar... Hiew hiew hiew!

My new Apple Bed!

The other night, I kinda chewed a hole in my bed cushion, and tore out some of the stuffies inside. My Momma was pretty upset, so she stuffed everything back in and tried to put it back together. It didn't work so well. So two nights ago, she buys me a new Apple Bed! I don't think I've told you guys before, but apples are my all-time favorite fruit snacks. My Pops doesn't like fruits much, but he does like apples, and I think I learned that from him.

Anyway, it was about 10pm when they unwrapped the new bed and gave it to me.

10:00pm, 23rd February, 2010

"Is this really an apple? It doesn't
look or smell like an apple..."

Anyway, I started making the apple bed feel welcomed by tossing it around and roughing with it. I think my old toys like GG and Miss Crab got a bit jealous. Momma was happy with her purchase!

Then this was what she found the next morning after she came out of the shower:

7:30am, 24th February, 2010

Oh no! What happened to my new Apple Bed? It looked like someone has mistaken the apple core for an eye and ripped it open! Momma immediately blamed me, but I tried to tell her that it wasn't me. It was... erm... it was a Doberman! One of those nasty Dobermans broke into our room while she was showering and attacked my new Apple Bed. It probably would've attacked Pops in his sleep and then ambushed Momma too, except that I bravely chased it back out the window.

"It wasn't me, Momma! It was the Doberman!"

I don't think Momma believes me though. If only I could work the flashy box myself, I'd have proof! Then instead of being upset, she'd be proud of my bravery.

A present from Uncle Eff

Recently, Uncle Eff sent a present over for Pops. It was a strange and long package, and we had no idea what it was. When they got home, my Humans started opening the package to see what it is. Of course, being the curious little dog that I am, I had to find out too!

Hmmm... what's this?

Oooh! Popping AND chewing paper!

Ripping apart the stuff around the present was really tricky cos Uncle Eff used a lot of sticky tape. It was like one of those Christmas presents, but less colorful and trickier to open. And it had some happy popping paper too! We took a while, but we got around to ripping it open and we finally found out what it was.

It's a ninja umbrella!

Uncle Eff sent Pops a new umbrella with a handle like a ninja sword. You can even sling it over your shoulder and back to wear it like a real sword. Pops tried, but his short little arms couldn't pull the umbrella out that way.

Pops once bought a ninja outfit as a costume for a video, so now he can have an umbrella to go with it! Cos you know, ninjas hate rain and water. I can understand... it's just like a bath, except for the whole world!

My new neighbors

These days, it seems like there are more animal friends coming to live in my neighborhood. First of all, there's my Bat friend. I don't know what his name is, but I'm going to call him Bruce. We first noticed Bruce the Bat when my Humans were letting me out into the garden for me to shower the plants, and then Bruce and some of his friends kinda dropped from above the door and flew around. Bats scare Momma a lot!

Bruce the Bat

But Bruce seems pretty harmless. He just kinda hangs around all day. Like, really hangs around. He seems to like hanging upside down for some reason. The Beagle from down the road said that he does it because he's really small, and by hanging upside down he's helping his body to grow taller. That's such a cool trick!

I've always wanted to be a big husky like Khyra, the Army of Four or the OP Pack, so I tried that trick too. But I couldn't really hang off anything though because I don't have opposing thumbs. The best I could do was lie on my back. It didn't really help me grow any taller or bigger, but it does get me some comfy belly rubs from my Humans!

Nope... not growing any taller...

The other new neighbors are some feather puppies that have nested somewhere near my Humans' bedroom window. I can't find where they are exactly, but I can hear them chirping and singing every morning. Momma was worried that the Evil Cat might come and eat the feather puppies, but it's okay. The Dog Knight has been patrolling the house to keep those cats away! *wink wink*

I hope I can find those feather puppies soon. I think they'll look as cute as they sound. Speaking of which, both Momma and Pops have just gotten their iPhones and are now addicted to Twitter. The Twitter noise sounds just like the feather puppies!

Pops' new Stormtrooper shoes

One thing I forgot to mention about Chinese New Year is that it's traditional to get a whole new outfit for when you go around visiting your relatives. Apparently, a new year has to start with new clothes. Pops loves his smelly old pair of skate shoes (which Momma hates), so this is pretty much the only time of the year that he'll get another pair of shoes.

"I don't care if they're Star Wars shoes...
shoes are still shoes, and shoes suck."

This year, Momma surprised him by getting him a pair of Adidas Star Wars shoes! The nasty people at Adidas didn't want to let Momma pre-order or reserve the shoes, so they had to go and queue up at Adidas to get the limited edition Stormtrooper shoes. Pops stood in a line for three hours for those shoes. Ridiculous, right? Who the hell wants to wear shoes anyway? Feeling the ground on your paws and claws is such a nice feeling.

Pops and the Stormtrooper

They actually got the shoes about a month ago, but Pops was not allowed to wear them until Chinese New Year came around. So all this time, they've been sitting in the packaging. I tried them on when my Humans wasn't around, but they didn't really fit my paws. Besides, they only come in a set of two. As silly as I look with shoes on,  I'd look even dumber if I only wore two.

Silly humans and their shoes...

Happy Chinese New Year!

Wow it's been like a week since I've last put up a blog post, and it's been because it's been a crazy week over here. Well, it's kinda crazy. Anyway, it was recently Chinese New Year over here in Singapore. I could've sworn that there was another new year about two months ago, but here it comes again, apparently.

Chinese New Year is like an excuse to put up lots of red things, and go visiting all your relatives and stuff. Aunt Mainey likes the part where all the married folk have to give money in little red packets to unmarried folk, but Momma and Pops were less enthusiastic about that.

On the first day of CNY, I didn't really think it was all that special at all. My Humans sorta just left the house early in the morning, and then didn't come back till later. It was like any other day in my life, really. Although when they came back, they brought a whole bunch of relatives with them... including a couple of human puppies for me to play with! That was pretty cool, but we forgot to take photos though.

There's some good and bad news about CNY though. The bad news is that Momma thought I really needed to take a bath before all the visitors came to play with me, so yeah... I got stuck in the Torture Chamber and she soaked me as usual. You'd think that I'd get used to this after a year, but it never gets any less icky.

The good news is that I got so clean that I was allowed onto the bed!

Cuddling with Eve

This isn't the first time I was allowed onto the bed, but Momma finally let me play with her plushie Eve! I was never allowed to go near her before, but on this day I got to snuggle up with her. That was awesome!

"Hey, I wasn't doing anything..."

Anyway, there was a lot of food going around, but I didn't get to eat any of it cos I got some wet poopies again. I hate those wet poopies. They went away for a while, but came back for a couple of days during CNY.

Oh, and everyone's all saying that this year is the year of the Tiger. To that I say "who cares?" It's just a giant cat... and cats are nobody's friends.

Anyway... I can catch up with everyone's blogs again! Yay!

Random Video Moment

My chloro-bone tried to get away from me the other day. But I showed it who's the alpha-dog!

Super Bowl Monday

Yes you read right: here in Singapore it's Super Bowl Monday because the sun rises earlier here than over there... or something like that. My Pops tried to explain that to me, but it just went into one of my big furry ears and out the other.

The Super Bowl crowd
during the iffy half-time show

Anyway, a whole bunch of friends came around to watch the game, like Uncle Qian (the one that Salinger referred to as "turdley" and another one of you called a "douche"... though you've since changed the comment, whoever you are hahahah!), Uncle Javad, and others that I've not met before.

My first Super Bowl was pretty exciting at first, but it got really boring later on when people stopped showering me with affection and kept staring at the screen. By the fourth quarter, I was snoozing soundly until someone caught an "in-conception" or something. That made everyone want to wake me up with loud cheering.

Saints win! Saints win!

The good news is, the team that Momma and Pops wanted to win actually won! So that's great! Though deep down inside, Pops wanted the Vikings to win. I forgot to tell you guys what happened after they lost to the Saints two weeks ago. Pops was so sad... I've never seen him that sad before! Oh well, the Saints were his second choice at least.

Oh well... now it's time to wait for the next season!

That stupid crate door!

Pops played a trick on me recently. He knows that I'm afraid of the crate door, and he left it half opened for me. Deep down inside, I know that I can push my way through, but something just keeps me from really touching it.

I've seen Knuckles do it before... I know I can too! Someday I'll show them... I'll show them all!

5 second rule

The Beagle from down the road just taught me a new rule: If some food falls onto the floor and it's not claimed by any humans within 5 seconds, then it's considered dog-snacks!

My first Superbowl

Hey everyone! Just a quick post to say that we're up at 6 in the morning to catch the big game. Go Drew Brees! My Momma is wearing her The Who shirt already for the half time show. I'm so excited! Pics and more in a later post. Guests are arriving now!

Miserable wet poopies

Since Friday night, my tummy's been feeling lousy and I've been doing wet poopies. Momma and Pops have been quite worried, and they've been waking up several times in the middle of the night or the early morning to clean up my smelly wet poop. I mean, normally my poop doesn't smell bad, but even I think these ones are really gross.

I think I'll skip on the pictures, cos I don't think anybody wants to see that.

Then this morning, Pops woke up at about 5am and had to do wet poopies of his own. Hahaha! Silly Pops... always copying me because he gets jealous of all the affection I get from Momma!

Birthday photos from the park

Last Saturday, the whole family (except Grandpa, who had something else on) took Knuckles and I to the park for our birthday. It was tons of fun, and there was cake, snacks (like real honest-to-goodness meat bones!) and presents!

Our birthday cake

When we got there, there was a huge crowd of children who are here on a vacation from China! I don't know where China is, but I'm sure it's somewhere near Chinatown. Anyway, these kids were all dressed up in red, and when they saw Knuckles and I, they went berserk and started taking so many photos of us! We were like celebrity dogs, and we couldn't look anywhere without a flash going off in our face.

There were many many more kids
than just the ones in this picture

Then we cut the cake, and ran around. Aunt Mainey's friend came along and she gave me a plushie that she'd purposely fished out of those toy-catching machines at the video arcade. There was just so much going on! At one point, it started raining and Momma was really upset that the day would be ruined, but the rain only lasted a few minutes and we got to run around some more.

Oooh cake!

Running with Momma and Aunt Jol

My new present: Marie Cat!

Later in the day, this human puppy started playing with us. She just couldn't resist our fluffiness and kept wanting to touch our fur. She was really cute, and ran around with us too. But Knuckles and I were too fast for her to catch up. Still, we'd stop and let her touch us once in a while.

The human puppy loved to run with us

The human puppy did the Vulcan nerve pinch
on Knuckles. I want to learn that trick too!

By the end of the day, we were both really really tired. We could barely keep our eyes opened for photos!

Yawn!

Double yawn!

Oh, and check out the Photoshop magic that Momma did on our photos to make them look nicer. Momma just learned how to do something called a vignette (sounds like Italian food). I think it was worth the wait!

This is me, looking handsome

And here's Knuckles, looking pretty handsome too

After the park, we just went home and slept. I love birthdays! I wish I could have one every year!

Tricking the humans

I'm supposed to put up some photos of my birthday at the park with Knuckles, but Momma's still photoshopping those pics so please be patient.

This is me with the Altar of Snack Conjuration

In the meantime, I've got a new trick! Remember my Altar of Snack Conjuration? You know, if I leave a Golden Offering on it, I get a snack? Anyway, I figured out that if I leave a Golden Offering on it while my Pops is in the bathroom, Momma will give me the snack. But if I wait around the Altar until Momma goes into bathroom and Pops comes out, I just have to hiew-hiew at Pops for a little bit and then Pops will feed me a snack too! Two snacks for one Golden Offering!

But I can't use it too often. My Humans are getting clever, and sometimes they'll check with each other first. Snap!
