Back from my break!

Hi doggy pals!

It's me, Sonic! I haven't been blogging for such a long time, that I think some of you might have completely forgotten about me already. I blame Pops, of course. Because it's never my fault... it's always the Humans' fault.

So I've been chilling out a lot...

So here are a few updates about what's been going on for the past few weeks:

There was a week when Pops and I made many many trips to the nasty place the humans call the airport. First we sent Aunt Mainey away, then it was Momma, then my grandparents, then finally Uncle Eff. Basically, in 10 days Pops and I sent every member of our family away! It was so awful. I missed everyone so much!

Being home alone with Pops meant we had quite a bit of quality time together. We had a long talk about Pops' childhood and how grandma used to bring him along to awful activities like shopping or visiting her friends, and Pops would have nothing to do but sit in a corner and stare at a wall. You see, this was a long time ago, before humans had things like iPhones, laptops, or even something my Pops called a "Gameboy".

He then promised me that he would never bring me along to boring places like that. I'm not sure I know what he's talking about though - everywhere is interesting to me, and I can always keep myself entertained by leaving Golden Offerings around.

Pops bought me some snacks to
distract me from missing Momma

Momma and my grandparents are back now. Momma went to Bali again, and came back  all darker... like a daschund. Then she raved and raved and raved about the beauty of the ocean and how fun it was to surf, while Pops just smiled and stared blankly.

So excited was Momma that we ended up renting two surfing movies for her to watch: Point Break and Blue Crush. And then that weekend, they took me to the beach for the very first time!

I have to say, I didn't really like the beach. It was awful and scary! It's hot, the ground is funny and soft, and the water! There was this part where the water kept rushing at me and trying to wash me away! I was so scared, but my Humans thought it was funny. They're weird like that.

That's a lot of water out there...

No, Momma... I don't want to go there!

Time to get out of here!

Anyway, I'm going to go and catch up with your blogs now. I'll write again soon!

Random Picture Moment with Uncle Eff

Pops just told me that Uncle Eff won't be coming home for Christmas. That's pretty sad, because I like it when Uncle Eff is around because he's the only one in the family as furry as me.

Anyway, here's a picture of us when he visited in October.

Uncle Eff and me

Come back and visit soon, Uncle Eff! Grandma will really like it if you do!

Attack of the Clone!

This is going to sound like something out of Dennis the Vizsla's blog, but Flat Brutus has been cloned! The original Flatty was looking a bit worn out from all his travels, so Momma took him to a mysterious place and had him cloned.

The clone Flatty (on the left) and
the original Flatty (on the other left)

The new Flat Brutus is a slightly smaller, sleeker version of the original, and he comes with a magical force field that protects him from rain, water bowl spills and pee. Momma says that this force field will help keep him safe as he goes to his next destination - Australia!

Maybe Clone Flatty will bump into Aunt Mainey or Uncle Eff while he's there?

The Beagle from down the road says it's a good thing we sent the clone away. Apparently, clones look and act like their originals, but they tend to go crazy and eat other dogs and humans when you least expect it. Or when their Doberman masters command it.

Airport pwnage

Now as you all know, the airport is a nasty, nasty place. Every single time my humans need to go to the airport, it means one of my favorite humans will be going away. My Momma went to Sandy Eggo for two weeks, and Aunt Mainey and Uncle Eff are still away in Australia right now.

No, not the airport!!!

So I was kinda a bit freaked out when Pops took me to the airport the other day. After all, it was just me or him. So either he was going away, or he was sending me away! I didn't like any of those options at all.

But it turns out that we were just picking my grandparents up! And everytime grandma goes away, she comes back with presents and toys! I was so excited!!!

So we parked at the carpark and waited, as the plane was delayed. We couldn't go into the airport itself as non-government dogs aren't allowed there (I saw a van drive past carrying some government issue German Shepherds). Pops took me out so that I could sniff some international-smelling grass and leave some Golden Offerings on the trees.

Something tastes foreign...

It was okay, I guess... funny smells, funny tastes... There were giant metal birds flying past, leaving behind yucky tastes and smells. I think I prefer the trees and grass back at home.

International relations

Anyway, we picked up grandma and grandpa, and I DID get presents! But Momma won't let me have them yet, until I decide which of my old toys to throw out. Anyway, I'll post about my new toys later.

Airport? NOOOOO!!!!

Last night, there was some very unusual stuff going on in the bedroom. Momma was tossing some of her clothes into a big black bag. She doesn't normally do that at all. So I went to check it out.

"What's with the clothes, Momma?
What are you doing?"

So as I snooped around a bit more, she kept piling on and on the clothes, and then started charging up the camera and asking Pops for SD cards and stuff. What's an SD card, anyway? Is it something like a V-day card, like the one Brutus got from Stella? I didn't think so... and something wasn't right.

Then I heard my Humans use the terrifying word: "airport."

Noooo!!! My Momma's going away??? What if she goes away for a long time, like Aunt Mainey and Uncle Eff? What am I going to do without Momma? I'm freaking out here! I don't know what to do!!! What if Momma's leaving me forever? Pops doesn't even know how to give me a bath without getting soap in my eyes!

I'm soooo sad! Hiew hiew hiew!!!

A present from Uncle Eff

Recently, Uncle Eff sent a present over for Pops. It was a strange and long package, and we had no idea what it was. When they got home, my Humans started opening the package to see what it is. Of course, being the curious little dog that I am, I had to find out too!

Hmmm... what's this?

Oooh! Popping AND chewing paper!

Ripping apart the stuff around the present was really tricky cos Uncle Eff used a lot of sticky tape. It was like one of those Christmas presents, but less colorful and trickier to open. And it had some happy popping paper too! We took a while, but we got around to ripping it open and we finally found out what it was.

It's a ninja umbrella!

Uncle Eff sent Pops a new umbrella with a handle like a ninja sword. You can even sling it over your shoulder and back to wear it like a real sword. Pops tried, but his short little arms couldn't pull the umbrella out that way.

Pops once bought a ninja outfit as a costume for a video, so now he can have an umbrella to go with it! Cos you know, ninjas hate rain and water. I can understand... it's just like a bath, except for the whole world!

Meet the Toys: Leo the Leopard

My Grandma went to Australia to visit Aunt Mainey and Uncle Eff a few months ago, and she came back with a new toy for me that I just instantly became BFFs with. This toy was Leo the Leopard!

Leo the Leopard

Leo might be based on a cat, but that's okay because he doesn't purr and meow at all. In fact, the only noise he makes is the squeaking sound when I bite into his body. I love that squeaking sound!

Leo is great because he's a bit bigger than GG, but he's got those flailing arms and legs just like GG, so I can pick him up and toss him around over and over again. It's like so totally fun. Lately he's become my sparring buddy while I train to become the Dog Knight. I still toss GG around too, but Leo is a bit more like my own size now (and he has that squeaking sound).

Tackling Leo

I know you're technically not supposed to have two BFFs, but I love them both the same. So they take shifts being my BFF. During the day, when my humans are out, I'll play with Leo. But when my humans come back and I'm snuggling with them and getting ready for bed, that's GG's time.

Sonic and Leo

Well, I'm going to go and play with Leo now. See you guys later!

Random Photo Moment

Here are some pics that my humans snapped of me while I was sleeping... or at least trying to sleep. When I snooze, they get so caught up on how cute I am that they wanna snap some photos of it. Sometimes, I'm just too cute for my own good!

PS Uncle Eff went back to Melbourne last night. But Aunt Mainey is in town now to spend 3 months with me. It seems like my family is always rearranging themselves. Oh well... as long as there's always someone around to coddle me and pamper me!

Uncle Eff

I finally got to meet Uncle Eff last night! Uncle Eff is my Pops' brother... so he's like my Pops' version of Knuckles. Uncle Eff normally lives in Melbourne, which is a city far far away, but last night he came over to visit.

Uncle Eff's hair is really weird, and his dress sense is a bit funny, even for a human. I guess if Uncle Pete and Uncle Dave (the Twins) used to be St Bernards, then Uncle Eff probably used to be a poodle or a schnauzer.

I'm looking forward to playing more with Uncle Eff. Pops says he's a bit crazy, so I wonder if he's anything like Knuckles.

If you want to check out Uncle Eff's weirdness, check out his blog!

If Uncle Eff really does want to make my Sonic the Hedgehog outfit for Halloween, I've already got the red shoes to go with!

Plushies for Puppies

We have new toys! Tonight, Momma and Pops went out for dinner with their friends, then they surprised me with a new toy! It's a soft cuddly version of the superhero hedgehog that I'm named after, and the echidna that Knuckles is named after. I don't even know what an echidna is, but Pops says its a marsh pupil or something like that. Whatever it is, it's red.

I love my new toy! Momma says that Halloween is coming up soon, so we're going to get my Uncle Eff to make me a Sonic costume to wear! I hope he actually makes one for me, cos I wanna look just like my hero!

Meet Knuckles

That's my brother Knuckles on the left.

Last weekend I went to visit my Aunt Jol and my brother Knuckles. I guess now is as good a time as any to tell you guys about my brother Knuckles. When my Momma adopted me, Aunt Jol went with her and also fell in love with the little puppies. There were only two of us left for adoption, so the two sisters decided to adopt one each. The story I'm always told is that Knuckles and I both instinctively crawled towards our respective parents, and that's how they chose us.

This photo was taken on the day we were adopted.

More after the jump!
