Still no treat

The very next day that Pops was supposed to get me a nice big treat, I still didn't get anything. He told me that he did drive all the way to the doggy bakery (which is a bakery for dogs, not a place that bakes dogs) after work but it was closed.

The Beagle from down the road told me something once, and it goes: "Excuses are like poopy-holes - everyone has one!"

So no, Pops! I'm not satisfied with your excuses!

In the meantime, I'm going to refuse to eat my breakfast.

These aren't the treats I'm looking for

As Randy Moss says: "I'll eat when I want to eat!"

Super Bowl Monday

Yes you read right: here in Singapore it's Super Bowl Monday because the sun rises earlier here than over there... or something like that. My Pops tried to explain that to me, but it just went into one of my big furry ears and out the other.

during the iffy half-time show

Anyway, a whole bunch of friends came around to watch the game, like Uncle Qian (the one that Salinger referred to as "turdley" and another one of you called a "douche"... though you've since changed the comment, whoever you are hahahah!), Uncle Javad, and others that I've not met before.

My first Super Bowl was pretty exciting at first, but it got really boring later on when people stopped showering me with affection and kept staring at the screen. By the fourth quarter, I was snoozing soundly until someone caught an "in-conception" or something. That made everyone want to wake me up with loud cheering.

Saints win! Saints win!

The good news is, the team that Momma and Pops wanted to win actually won! So that's great! Though deep down inside, Pops wanted the Vikings to win. I forgot to tell you guys what happened after they lost to the Saints two weeks ago. Pops was so sad... I've never seen him that sad before! Oh well, the Saints were his second choice at least.

Oh well... now it's time to wait for the next season!

Pops' day at home

Yesterday was a good day. Pops had the day off, and he spent the whole day at home with me! He had some work to do, so he was using the computer a lot, but he did manage to spend some time to chill with me. That was awesome.

Me and my friends, WALL-E and EVE

We played tag around the living room, and he took some photos of me sitting on the WALL-E bench. Do you like my friends WALL-E and EVE? My humans received this bench as a wedding present from those nice folks at Disney after they took a wedding photo with a bench like this one... and now it's my turn to take a picture! The robots used to freak me out a little bit at night, but after a while you get used to them and I think they're both really cute now.

My Christmas tree!

As you can see, Grandma and Aunt Mainey have also put up the Christmas tree, and so far I've not left a Golden Offering on it yet (Momma says Santa Paws won't bring me any presents if I do). I love the Christmas tree. It's so sparkly and pretty, and so tall! It's taller than my humans!

I also got extra garden time, and I went around sniffing out the usual bad guys like the Evil Cat and those Stalker Squirrels. Luckily for them, they weren't around so I didn't have to chase any of them.

No squirrels? Good!

We did find something a bit nasty though... it was a dead snake being eaten up by ants! So gross! I mean, it's bad enough that we have snakes in the garden - where did it come from??? I'll have to be extra careful in the garden now... it's kinda freaky.

Nothing grosser than a dead
snake being eaten up by ants

But what's grosser is being eaten up by ants. If I had to die, I really wouldn't want an army of little bugs crawling over my body and eating me up. YUCK!

After that, I watched a DVD with my Pops (I got to snuggle on the bed!) and waited till Momma was done with work. Momma had to work late, so I managed to fit in a nap while waiting for her. My humans have been so busy this week, they haven't even watched the football games they've recorded yet!

PS Grandpa wants to sell or give the bench away, cos he thinks it's silly. Pops is trying to delay selling it... I hope he delays it forever!

Brady disappoints Momma

For the last few days, my humans have been really hyped about the big football game between Momma's favorite team the Patriots and the team with Pops' fantasy football champion QB, the Saints. It's supposed to be Monday Night Football, but because we live in Singapore it becomes Tuesday Morning Football, and because my humans have work and school and stuff, they have to record it and watch it in the evening. Normally, they'd avoid using the computer and the Internet to stop themselves from finding out the results, but yesterday Momma accidentally opened her email over lunch and saw the results of the game!

She was soooooooo upset! When she got home, her face was all sad and I did my very best to cheer her up with face-licks and hugs. We watched the game anyway, because Pops and Aunt Mainey managed not to find out the results. Even though she knew that the Patriots will lose, Momma still supported her team, as if her sheer willpower can change history. She cheered every time Tom Brady completed a pass, and still insisted that I refer to him as my "other Pops".

Pops on the other hand, was ecstatic that Drew Brees threw a perfect game to help him win his Fantasy Football game. His joy died down very quickly when Momma told him that he should get comfortable on the couch, because he's gonna end up sleeping there.

During the game, my humans were munching on some fruits, and I really wanted some! I was a big naughty though, because every time Momma gave me a bit, I'd nibble on it a little and then ask for another one. She got upset and stopped giving me fruits after a while, but I think it was because she's taking out her football anger out on me.

During the game, I got a bit iffy that my humans weren't showing me enough attention, so I snuck into their bedroom and left a Golden Offering beside their bed. My half-time show was watching Pops clean up my pee! That was fun, but then Momma got really upset and sent me to my room.

My other Pops

Last night, Momma, Pops, Aunt Mainey and I watched the big game between the Patriots and the Colts. Momma was so excited because she loves the QB for the Patriots. I know some of you don't know much about American Football and might not know what a QB is, so I'll explain. The QB is the Queen Bee of the team, and he's the guy that throws the ball around.

Anyway, Momma loves Tom Brady, and she asks me to refer to him as my "Other Pops". I don't think my real Pops is too happy about that.

The game was really exciting to watch, but that damned Dog in the Window showed up and started stealing my Bear-Bear! I can't stand him, because he's always hiding behind the window. What a scaredy dog! Wait till I bust out my Dog Knight moves on him!

Random Photo Moment

Pops got a bit antsy after his Vikings lost to the Steelers, but he got much happier after the Vikings knocked down the Cheese Heads again this week. Mmm... cheese. I want to try eating cheese.

Imagine that, having a cheese head. If you got hungry, you could just chew on your own mouth or something, or eat your own nose.

The Fleas are multiplying!

I can't believe it, but Momma's pet fleas are multiplying! I can't really tell, but I overheard Momma saying that her Tamagotchi (it's human-speak for "pet fleas") just had a baby. If three of them aren't bad enough... now they're breeding! I have a bad feeling about this...

Tamagotchi

And then I also found out that Aunt Jol has these things too! Knuckles is more destructive than I am... I hope he doesn't break open their capsule and release those icky things. I'll have to be very careful next time I visit them.

While Momma and Pops were distracted by the football game, I tried to kill the fleas. But I got scared, and decided to hide in the corner instead... Hiew hiew hiew!

The Dog Knight

Recently, Aunt Mainey went to Warner Bros Movie World in the Gold Coast, and she bought only one souvenir for us... and it was for me, because she loves me so! We just got the package last night, so Momma and Pops quickly opened it up to see what it was.

Batman costume

It's a little t-shirt with this logo of a bat on it. My Pops said it was the Batman logo, and Batman is this human that dresses up like a bat and then goes out and beats bad guys up. Sounds a bit weird, if you ask me, but apparently humans do that stuff.

Batdog

I guess Aunt Mainey is helping me defeat the evil forces of the Evil Cat and the Stalker Squirrels. With this new outfit, I'm not just fighting them with brute force and loud barking, but also a symbol to strike fear into their hearts. Woof! Or maybe she's just saying that I have big ears... I'm not sure.

Anyway, as my first order of business, I sat down and watched Some Kind of Wonderful with Momma and Pops. The humans in this movie are dressed really funny... with big shoulders and stuff. Like football players, except without the helmet and tights.

Football? More like Dog-ball!

Lately, Momma and Pops have been watching a lot of football on TV. It's this sport where a bunch of humans chase after a ball and then jump on each other. Basically, they're pretending to be dogs... so why is it called football when it should be called dog-ball instead?

Anyway, last night Momma and Pops just watched their favorite teams win in their games. Momma says it's not a big deal for her team (The Patriots) because they win all the time and the quarterback is super-duper handsome, but for Pops it's a huge deal because his team is always the "under-dog team" so to start the season with a 6-0 record is surprising.

Now I understand the concept of the term "under-dog"... I just don't like it. I mean, why should a loser team be called the under-dog team? Do humans think that dogs are losers? I think that's a nasty term that demeans dogs, and we should totally change it. From now on, all loser teams will be known as "under-cat teams".

Like the Detroit Lions. Now there's a loser under-cat team hahahaha! Why would you want to name your team after a big cat? After all, a big cat is still a cat. Well, name your team after a cat and it's no surprise that you've only won one game all season!

Anyway, Pops says that this is the year that the Vikings are going to go all the way. He said that in his Xbox game, his videogame Vikings clashed with the videogame Patriots in the Superbowl, so that's his prediction for this season. What's a "Superbowl"? It sounds pretty awesome though... I think it's going to be this massive bowl filled with all the best dog food and dog treats you could ever want! Like Scooby snacks, ziggies, and scraps of human food that drop off the dinner table.
