Missing Momma...

I feel kinda lonely at home without Momma. I mean, Pops is around and he's being really nice like moving my bed near his bed so we can sleep closer together (not that I actually sleep there because he might step on me when he wakes up in the morning), but it's still just Pops and when you get down to it, I love Momma so much more.

I'll just lie here till Momma gets back.

Hmm... I'm getting kinda sleepy...

At least my ears aren't so itchy these days.

Cooking for Grandma's bday

I thought I'd just drop a quick post to show you some pictures of Pops' cooking yesterday. Remember how he was supposed to cook for grandma's birthday? Here's how it went.

The dog that didn't get to eat any of it

A sad thing happened after lunch - Momma and Pops decided to take me to the vet! They tried to trick me by taking me to a different vet, but I recognized the smell. All vets smell the same.

Get me outta here, Momma! Pleeeeeeeease?

They took me to the vet because my ear's been hurting a bit lately. Momma says there's a lotta funky-smelling stuff in it when she cleans my ears with the fluff-sticks. I usually struggle anyway, but lately I've been yelping too.

It turns out that I have a yeast infection! The doc gave me some ear drops, so hopefully my ear won't be hurting anymore. Momma says my ear is like a vajayjay... but what's a vajayjay and why is it like my ear?

My ears are better now!

After all this time, and all the sticking of gross things into my ears, my ear infection is finally gone! I'm better now!

Too bad Uncle Qian now has an ear infection too, and it's so bad he can't talk and chew properly. But it's not my fault! I didn't pass it to him! The Beagle from down the road says that he must've caught it from a dirty PS3 controller or something.

Happy birthday, Momma!

Yesterday was Momma's birthday! First it's Pops' birthday, then Aunt Jol's, then Momma's, and soon it will be my birthday!

Happy birthday, Momma!

I love my Momma. She's the best to me, even if she sticks things into my ears sometimes, and humiliates me in the shower. I hope she knows I love her lots and lots, even if I'm hiding from her in my crate.

Random Photo Moment

Ever since that last visit to the vet because of my ear infection, I've been finding icky things hidden in my food. I find them so annoying, cos it makes eating so difficult when you have to eat your way around those icky things.

Tails update

Poor Tails...

Sad news, everyone! We just heard from Aunt Cheryl that Tails isn't taking well to his medicine. Apparently it makes him vomit and stuff! I can sorta understand, because I think medicine tastes really bad too, but it hasn't made me vomit... yet. The poor guy probably hasn't taken any medicine before. I don't think he's even been to the vet before!

I mean, I hate going to the vet and I hate eating medicine too, but I guess it's what humans make you do when they love you a lot. Speaking of icky things humans do when they love you a lot, I'm still getting my ears cleaned by Momma every morning and every night because of my ear infection. I hate it!

I can't stand it when Momma cleans my ears!

Lately I learnt a new trick, where I bury my head between Momma's lap so she can't reach my ears with the pokey sticks. The Beagle from down the road calls it the "ostrich trick". I asked him what an ostrich is, and he said it's like a giraffe with wings. I imagine what GG would look like with wings, and it's really funny! I think it's another one of the Beagle from down the road's imaginary creatures, like merlions (a lion with a fish-tail - as if!), Jawas (giant rats that collect rubbish - like what?) and dalmatians (dogs with polka dots - yeah right!).

Back to the vet

It's terrible... but my ear started getting all itchy again. I had to see a vet about it a couple of months ago, and then the itchiness went away but it's come back again. And I hate it! I hate that feeling, and it makes me just want to rub my ears into the ground.

Anyway, my Momma was stuck at work so Pops took me to the vet. He's never been to this one, and he didn't know that I've been here with Momma and Grandma before. He probably thought he could trick me into going to the vet. But my memory's awesome and I recognized the place immediately. Heck, my nose could pick up the smell of vet! So I started whining and pleading with him not to take me there, but he did anyway. Hiew hiew hiew...

Inside the vet, I saw this awesome looking husky! It was like Khyra, or the guys from the OP Pack, but much smaller. It was a little puppy husky, and even though it was half my age, it was still twice my size. Geez you huskies are big!

The really expensive Husky
Husky Puppy!

The lady at the vet told us that the puppy belonged to a dog-crazy family, and they bought the puppy for $8000! I don't use money so I'm not sure what that means exactly, but my Pops told me that it's about the same as 18 Xbox 360's. Pops love his Xbox, so that must mean it's A LOT.

There was also this cat there, but I think it was the vet's cat so I was too afraid to chase it around (though I really really really wanted to). If I caught it and bullied it, the vet will probably stick some fat needle in my eye or cut my tail off or something.

The Vet cat

I think the cat knew that I wasn't allowed to go near and bully it, so it totally just laughed at me from atop its cage. Even if they're not agents of the Evil Dobermans, cats are still annoying!

After that, it was time to go see the vet, and I was sooooo scared. Whenever Pops put me on the table, I'd just jump and try to climb back into his arms. I hate that table. Bad things happen on that table. It smells of death, medicine, and cats. He stuck little white stick things into my ear, and told my Pops that we needed to clean my ears more because the yeast infection is back. That's sucky.

Anyway, after that my Pops took me home, and I whimpered all the way in the car. Hiew hiew hiew!

PS Sorry for the lousy pictures. My Pops was having a hard time taking photos since I was tugging on the leash and trying to escape.

PPS Oh, and congrats to our favorite sausage dog from Mexico Lorenza. She recently won an award from Brutus' blog, and her prize was a picture drawn of her by Lili Chin. That's so awesome! Click here to see the pic at Lorenza's blog.

Knuckles' day at the beach

I really hate this ear infection thing. This morning, Momma and Pops went with Knuckles, Aunt Jol and Uncle Nicky to some new place called "the beach". I wanted to go too, but Momma said that I can't go because it might make my ear infection worse. So while everyone went out, I got to stay home and sulk.

Shortly after lunch, everyone came back and Knuckles was like covered in sand. He looked pretty scraggy, and got whisked away into the Bathroom Torture Chamber. But when he got out, he started bragging about how he got to run around in a big pit of sand, and even go swimming! Swimming's like, going into the water and kicking and splashing around. He said his feet couldn't touch the ground! I dunno... it sounds pretty scary to me.

Knuckles and Aunt Jol

Hmph... I'd look happy and relaxed too
if *I* got to go to the beach

Then he told me about how Pops and Uncle Nicky threw Piggy the Football around, and he got to run and chase after Piggy. Needless to say, Knuckles also got to pee on a lot of new places, and I got pretty jealous. I pretended not to be interested, but he just kept talking about the beach and saying how exciting it is and how it's the most fun ever... I told him to shut up again, but he didn't. So I made him.

I might not have any experience swimming, and I might have this stupid ear infection, but I can still tackle harder and pin Knuckles down to remind him who's the older brother.

If the day wasn't lousy enough, everyone went out without me again! It was some moon festival thing at Lancelot the Cat's place, and I think everyone was invited except for me. Because of that stupid ear infection again. As if it's not bad enough that I get cotton sticks shoved into my ears every night, but now I'm snubbed for all the social events. At least Knuckles didn't come back to brag some more that night.

When Momma and Pops got back, I think they were feeling pretty guilty for not taking me out. Momma brought me these funny glowing things to cheer me up. I guess they were pretty cool. Pops explained to me that blue was for the color of my namesake (some hedgehog thing. Yeah, that's right... a hedgehog and not a dog. Humans have weird naming habits), and the yellow glowing ring represented the golden rings that hedgehogs collect. Cool, but not cool enough.

I want to go to the beach too!

Back to school!

Today was a really exciting day because I got to go back to school! I've been sick for the past few weeks so I wasn't able to go to school, but I'm finally well enough and today I went into class... except the only other student-dog I recognized was my brother Knuckles. I recognized Bailey the big Alpha Collie, but he's the teacher's dog. All the other dogs are new, or at least new to me. I was so distracted by the new dogs and smells that I wasn't even interested in the sausage snacks! Which really annoyed Momma a lot, because it meant I wasn't paying attention in class nor trying to learn the new tricks. Even Aunt Jol was having better luck teaching Knuckles, and usually he's the easily-distracted one.

Today, we did some crate training, as we were taught how to be comfortable inside our crates. This wasn't really anything new to me, because I already love my crate. It's my own personal space, and it's a place for me to hide inside. However, some of the other dogs weren't so comfortable with the crates, and went nuts. I hope they get used to their crates soon.

After class, our teacher Lucas showed us some videos of him and Bailey at a competition, catching flying discs and running obstacle courses. Apparently Knuckles and I will learn how to do that stuff in the future, and I'm kinda looking forward to that because it looks pretty fun.

Then it was grooming time. Momma passed me over to Melvin the Groomer, and I did what I always do when I'm on the grooming table - I trembled uncontrollably. Hey, you would tremble too if there was some guy snipping big sharp scissors at your face. He started shaving off my fur, and then stuck these cotton buds into my ear too. It was very, very uncomfortable and scary.

Still, at the end of it I felt lighter and less fuzzy. It's nice not to have your fur in your own eyes all the time, and I think I look even cuter than before, if that's possible. Seriously, I look pretty damned handsome right about now. Humans will be totally helpless against my charms. I mean check me out. I'm a total stud.

On the way home, Momma and I were so exhausted after such a long day that we fell asleep in the car all the way home. It's so comfortable to nap while being snuggled by Momma. I wish I could fall asleep in her arms more often.

Momma and Pops "jogging"

This evening, Momma and Pops decided to go jogging before dinner. I'm still too young and not quite strong enough to go jogging with them (actually, I can barely walk around the block without needing my Momma to carry me), so I got left at home. When they came back, they were all sweaty and smelled like OTHER DOGS!

I don't think I'm being paranoid or suspicious, but I think I smelled Missy the Westie from next door on my Momma. How dare that hussy try to steal my humans!

PS - I HATE GETTING COTTON BUDS SHOVED INTO MY EAR!

No! Not another trip to the vet!

Last week my humans mentioned that I didn't need to go to the vet, but today they decided I needed to go. My Momma and grandma took me to a different vet today, probably thinking that I wouldn't figure out where they're taking me. But they underestimated a dog's strong sense of smell and innate telepathic abilities. Okay, I'll admit it... I was trembling in the car the moment I realized where I was going. But you would tremble too if you were in my paws.

Anyway, it turns out that I have a yeast infection in my ear, and now I'll need ear drops and regular cleaning. What I wanna know is, how did I get a yeast infection in my ear? The Beagle from down the road said that yeast infections are things you get from humping Paris Hilton's chihuahua. But the thing is, I've never even so much as sniffed Tinkerbell's butt.

This news really shocks me. I've just recovered from another illness, only to get this. It's depressing. I hate getting medicated. I hate getting cotton buds shoved into my ears. I hate that itchy feeling in my ear all the time.

One good thing that came out of this is that I got injected with some stuff that makes me pee and poop more often. And my pee is now incredibly potent, so my Golden Offerings can now summon my humans even quicker than before. It's not really worth getting a needle jammed into my butt, but I guess it's a consolation. Remember, the food-dish is always half-full.

Toys from Thailand

It's pretty easy to figure out which
gift in the pile belongs to me.

So my aunt Jol just got back from a trip to Bangkok last week, and although she went there with only one bag of stuff, she came back with twenty or something (the number gets bigger every time my humans talk about it). The bags included some dresses for my Momma, a couple of t-shirts for my Pops, and also two new toys for me!

Honestly, if I wasn't so cute and totally deserved the affection, I'd think I was a pretty spoilt dog. But as it turns out, I'm worth it!

Choices, choices...

Anyway, I got a new comfy cushion and a big plush bone! I've since put the new cushion in my crate, and the bone... well, let's just say that Thai workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. I was ripping stuffing out of the bone a mere two nights later, and Momma had to sew up not one but two big holes in the bone. Pops waggled his finger at me, but honestly, it's a bone! Dogs are supposed to chew on bones!

Well, I'm off to go laze on my new cushion and bury my face into it. Something in my ear is getting quite uncomfortable though. It's really quite irritating.

If you're reading this, thanks Aunt Jol!

Momma didn't want me to eat the stuffing in the bone.
