Christmas Vet and a poster of friends

So Christmas wasn't the best time ever for me, because during the festive season I started vomiting a lot, and it was gross. Now before you guys accuse me of stealing human food during their festive get togethers, let me tell you that I started puking before all the partying.

At first it was just in the mornings, when I would wake my Humans up with my puking, and then it happened again in the afternoons.

Pops took me to a vet on Sunday, and as usual I whined and whined and whined about that. Still, I got to meet some new dogs, like a rough collie named Merlie who also had stomach problems.

When it was my turn to see the vet, they x-rayed me, and found nothing wrong with my tummy. So the vet just gave me some meds to help comfort my tummy until I got better. And on that day, I wasn't allowed to eat a single thing - torture!!!

On the way out, I made sure I left a precautionary warning to other dogs that might have to visit the vet.

Get away while you can!

While I was waiting for my x-ray, we saw this poster of a whole bunch of different dogs, and they looked just like some of you guys. I got Pops to take photos to show you:

That looks like Khyra, the Thundering Herd,
the Army of Four and the OP Pack

(Did you guys ever realized that a lot of sibe blogs start with the word "the"? Pops said they're like John Grisham novels)

Benny and Lily, and Brutus and Carmen...
though this poster guy's ears are smaller.

At first I didn't recognize this dog, but when I imagined a pretty dress as well, it was pure Lorenza

Maggie and Mitch, though this guy
doesn't look half as cute as they do

Twink! And this picture was even life-sized!

This guy looks just like Salinger, and those Elgin pugs.
If you squint, it almost looks like Bruschi too.

This is the part where Pops started getting all careless. He accidentally deleted a photo of a dog that looks like Martha and Bailey, and when I asked him to snap a photo of a Goldie to represent Sugar, Simba, Samantha and Avalon, and Yanni, he snapped a photo of a lab instead! So careless! If I was taller and could reach the poster, I'd have taken the photos myself!

Oh, and I almost forgot:

My best friend, the Beagle from down the road

Merry Christmas!

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of updates but it's been really busy here over Christmas. First, there was the many many nights and afternoons of gift wrapping. Momma and Pops just kept putting bits of chewing paper all over the presents. Why they do that, I will never know.

Look at all those presents!

I tried to help anyway, by stepping on the chewing paper to flatten them out. After a while, my Humans didn't really appreciate my help and put me in a corner... and mistakenly stacked up some gifts until I couldn't get out.

Nobody puts Sonic in a corner!

When they were finally done wrapping their gifts, they realized that they'd accidentally trapped me in the corner and let me out.

Christmas Day finally came, and Santa Paws brought me lots of gifts! I got snacks, plushies, and even some new clothes!

Mine, all mine!

We also went to visit family and grandparents, and basically it was a very family-oriented Christmas. I love that, because all my aunts and uncles always love feeding me lots of attention.

Merry Christmas to you guys out there! I'm going to go and catch up on all of your blogs now!

Height matters!

You know something? I really hate it when Knuckles is above me. I mean, I'm the big brother, so I should be higher up than him, right? The Beagle from down the road told me that height matters because the higher you are, the higher up the high-rarky you are. Neither of us are sure what that means, but I think it means he shouldn't climb up over me.

Which is why I get really angry when he jumps onto the couch, or when someone carries him! He can't get away with that, right? I'm the big brother!!!

Here are a couple of videos of how angry I get when Knuckles is up high.

Cone of Shame - Human version

A few of you guys were asking: "Sonic, when your humans got lasered by the Uffos, did they have to wear a cone of shame to stop them from scratching? You know, like how we have to?"

Well the answer is yes and no. Yes, they had to wear a Cone of Shame, but no, it was different from ours. Check it out:

Pops and his version of the Cone of Shame

Momma has to wear one too, but she said that if I put her her picture, she would have me "snipped". I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds really scary.

Also, check out this dog blog list I saw on the Thundering Herd's blog!

The Big Black Helmet

The other day, Pops put this big black thing on the floor. I'm not sure what it was, but it definitely had bad smells. I mean, it didn't smell bad as in stinky, but it smelled like it was bad, as in bad-ass.

I'd better be careful of it, I think. I don't know why Pops keeps such evil things in our room.

Random Picture Moment

Not much happening today... so I thought I'd try what Pops calls "installation art". I put Mr Elephant, two of the Squees, and my soccer ball together in perfect harmony. Do you like it?

I call this work "Plushie Circus"

Meet the toys: Bunny

I got a new toy! Well, actually it's not supposed to be mine, but it is now anyway. Lemme tell you the full story...

The other day, Momma received a package. It had some food for me, a Christmas present for Knuckles, and when Momma was rummaging around in the bag, a plushie fell out! I immediately went and snatched it, and went off to play with my new toy.

My new Bunny!

But apparently, it was not my new toy... Momma said it was cousin Tails' Christmas present. She gave the "off!" command, so I had no choice but to let it go.

When Momma took it away, I started hiew hiewing the way the Beagle from down the road taught me... and it worked! Momma felt so bad, she let me keep the new toy!

And that's the story of how I got Bunny. He squeaks. I like squeaky stuff!

Random Picture Moment with Uncle Eff

Pops just told me that Uncle Eff won't be coming home for Christmas. That's pretty sad, because I like it when Uncle Eff is around because he's the only one in the family as furry as me.

Anyway, here's a picture of us when he visited in October.

Uncle Eff and me

Come back and visit soon, Uncle Eff! Grandma will really like it if you do!

The Uffos caught my Humans!

Oh no! I have failed to chase the nasty Uffos away from my Humans! You guys remember those Uffos, right? It's the funny red lights that appear out of nowhere and speed around, catching humans.

The Beagle from down the road warned me about them, so I tried to ward them off with my Golden Offerings, but my Humans stopped me from doing that. And now they've paid the price.

Momma's eye, after the Uffo pew-pewed it

Uffos have caught both my Momma and Pops, and they shot lasers into their eyes! My Humans came back home last week with red eyes. It's kinda gross, if you ask me. Their eyes smell a bit burned.

They then spent the next few days hiding in our room, with the curtains closed and everything was dark. They kept putting drops of water in their eyes... maybe to put out the fire or something. Still, I noticed that they don't wear their glasses anymore.

Soon after this photo, Pops' other eye
got all red and swollen

Anyway, maybe next time they'll listen to me and let me protect them with my Golden Offerings.

My evening outside

Last evening was awesome! First, I got to go on a rare car ride to pick Momma up from work! There was the usual cool stuff, like sticking my head out the window to get some wind in the face and greet the strangers on the road.

Then when we got home, some neighborhood dogs were out for a walk, and my Humans allowed me to go out the Big Gate and meet some new friends! There was Tia and Buffy, who were really big, and then there was another little dog whose name I forgot. They were all girl dogs too, so hopefully I didn't catch cooties.

Unfortunately, it was too dark for my Humans' iPhones to get any decent pictures. Silly iPhones...

Then there was this awful old lady who yelled at my Pops to take me away. I know I wasn't leashed or anything, but we were just outside our house! Anyway, I'm sure she's just bitter and lonely because she was brought up by cats.

Spurred on by the awful old lady, I decided to do poopy outside the Big Gate... and ended up with dingleberries. Momma cleaned them off, and then took a pair of scissors to my tail fur.

My tail is not floofy anymore...
hiew hiew hiew!

I finally get my treats, and they are awesome!

So, about a week after Pops promised to give me a big fat treat, he finally delivers on his promise!!! He came back after work with Momma, carrying bags of treats! Check them out!

So much food!

There were donuts, quiches, cookies, muffins... and even four lamb meatballs! Wow that was a lot of food! I couldn't believe my eyes, and Momma laid them out all nicely for me to see. I was just drooling and drooling!

Big smiles from everyone

I finally figured out why I'm getting such a big treat. I heard that Pops got a new job at the Star Wars place, and he thinks that part of the reason is because his new boss saw my blog and thought I'm a really cute dog!

I hope Pops gets a new job every week!

Nom nom nom!

I saw an Uffo!

Hmmm... something really strange happened the other day. I saw this little red dot appear out of nowhere. I chased after it, but it was so fast! I mean, it just zoomed around like, even faster than a Sibe!

And you know what the funny thing was? It had no smell. Yeah, it's so strange, right? Cos everything is supposed to have a smell! But this red dot didn't, and it spooked me out.

I asked the Beagle from down the road if he knew what it was, and he said it was an "Uffo". Apparently, some humans have come across Uffos that fly around faster than their jets, and they always look like bright lights. These Uffos will sometimes come out of the sky to kidnap humans and stick metal things into their poopy-holes!

I didn't want some sneaky red Uffo taking my humans away, so I did what any dog would do to ward off creepy things: I left Golden Offerings around my Humans' bed.

But they weren't grateful at all... hiew hiew hiew...

Bed attack

I love burrowing in my Humans' bed. It makes me feel like a super dog, just burrowing under the surface and ready to pop out and pounce on someone!

I know it sounds silly, but I just get so excited because I don't get to climb onto their bed all that much. I can't jump onto it by myself, and I don't have my own set of stairs like Lorenza does. So anytime I get up there, I enjoy myself as much as I can!

Still no treat

The very next day that Pops was supposed to get me a nice big treat, I still didn't get anything. He told me that he did drive all the way to the doggy bakery (which is a bakery for dogs, not a place that bakes dogs) after work but it was closed.

The Beagle from down the road told me something once, and it goes: "Excuses are like poopy-holes - everyone has one!"

So no, Pops! I'm not satisfied with your excuses!

In the meantime, I'm going to refuse to eat my breakfast.

These aren't the treats I'm looking for

As Randy Moss says: "I'll eat when I want to eat!"

What kinda reward is this???

Last week, Pops came home all nervous and excited at the same time. He said that something unexpected happened, and that if everything goes well, he promised to buy me the biggest treat I've ever seen.

Then yesterday, he comes back and apparently things went well. But did I get a reward? NO! Instead, this becomes my reward:

What the???

I guess someone must have forgotten to tell my Pops that rewards are supposed to be things that I enjoy! And I definitely DO NOT ENJOY BATHS!!!

Hiew hiew hiew...

He wet me, he sprayed me, and he put those funny bubbles in my fur. When I came out of the Torture Chamber, I quickly jumped into my towel and tried to dry myself off.

And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Pops blasted me with the hot air gun. I hate that thing, especially when it gets me in the face!

One good thing though, is that after this I was allowed to jump on their bed because I was nice and clean! I love burrowing in their blanket!

Okay, Pops. You're forgiven for not buying me the promised treat. But I'll expect to see it tomorrow!!!

Weekend update

Last weekend, I got a bit of a surprise - Pops took me out for a car ride in the Great Outside! We went to pick Momma and Aunt Jol up from town, and then we went to drop Aunt Jol at home. Normally, that's more or less the end of my time in the Great Outside, but this night I got more!

We drove further to pick Turdley Uncle Qian up from his place, and then we went back to Happy Daze! We haven't been back here since Uncle Qian bought me dinner a few months ago, and yeah... it wasn't as spectacular as I remembered. Both the human and the dog food served there wasn't all that nice, and the waitress snubbed us a lot. She must be part poodle.

Although I was allowed to sit at the table,
I chose to sit underneath it.

They ran out of beef meatballs (it seems like they're always out of meatballs!) so Momma ordered a banana muffin for me. It wasn't very appetizing at all.

Here's half of the muffin, cos I couldn't really finish it.

But the night wasn't all bad! Aside from the cafe, I also got to visit a pet store, where I flashed Momma a really cute smile and she couldn't help but buy me a new bed to replace my old brown one. The new one is Sonic blue in color!

Then I also got to visit the video store because the human behind the counter was kind enough to let me in. I wanted to take photos to remember this special occasion, but Pops was too busy checking out the DVDs with Uncle Qian.

Humans... so easily distracted!

Then after that, it was time to go home, where Miss Crab and I made full use of my new bed!

You're both mine now!

Morning exercises with my Humans

Lately, my Humans have been waking up really early in the morning to do some exercises. Like, really really early, like the sun hasn't even come up yet. Which is good for me, cos that means I get to play with them sooner.

They usually go running, and then they'll come back into our room and do some more exercises. Sometimes I join them too, like this morning when I was exercising my chewing muscles.

Random Picture Moment

Have you guys ever seen my pawrents? Not my Momma and Pops, I mean. Those two are my Humans. My pawrents are the dogs that ordered Knuckles and I from the stork. Momma just showed me a picture of them, so I wanted to share it with you guys.

These are my pawrents

Can you see the resemblance?

Foursquare, Silkese-style

Today, I got to go over to grandmother's place to hang out with Knuckles. As usual, I really didn't like it when my Humans played and cuddled Knuckles, and I would dash over and start chasing Knuckles around. Pops thought it was very naughty of me, and decided to put me on "time out" by leashing me to the door.

I was a naughty boy

I was there for very long though, and soon I was out and about playing with Knuckles again. Foursquare is pretty popular with Momma and Aunt Jol (Pops retired from it a few months ago), and basically it's a game where you "check-in" at different places, and the person with the most check-ins at a place would become the mayor. I'm not sure what a mayor is, but I'm guessing it's like an alpha dog.

Knuckles and I don't have iPhones of our own, so we would check-in by leaving a Golden Offering. I became mayor of the dining room chair, and the balcony. Knuckles got the kitchen, the gate, and some other places I shouldn't mention in case grandmother is reading this.

It was definitely pretty fun. Oh yeah, check out Knuckle's new tag. It says "I <3 Food". It's pretty "duh" if you ask me, considering he steals so much human food. But it definitely suits him!

He kinda looks like he has buck teeth here.

Anyway, it was such a long day, I think I'm gonna curl up and sleep.

My tush

I don't understand my Pops. Every day when he comes home from work, he complains that he's too tired and exhausted to help me blog. And now I've missed out on Twink's Tushy Contest! Hiew hiew hiew!

I mean, I'm pretty tired too, you know? I have a tough day too. Being the family pet is a full-time job. I always have to show them love and affection, and it takes a lot of effort to look so damn cute while I nap in the afternoon! But do I ever complain? No! Cos it's my job. It's a fun job, but it's still a job.

At any rate, I did get a picture of my tush and though it's late, here it is!

Not as floofy as Khyra's, but still pretty floofy

I scream for ice cream

Last night, Momma came home in the evening, and instead of letting me out into the garden to pee like she normally does when she comes home, she scoops me up and brings me to the car, where Pops and Turdley Uncle Qian were waiting! I got to go and visit the Great Outside!

We went to get ice cream, and well... it sounds better than it was. Basically, everyone ordered chocolate, and we all know that chocolate is dog-poison. Why humans like to eat dog-poison, I will never know.

All that ice-cream... but I get nothing

Then Turdley Uncle Qian let my Humans play with his new iPad. Guess who didn't get to play with the iPad though? That's right... me!Apparently that iPad is not paw friendly. I need to get myself an iPaw or something.

We got to hang out a bit, I barked at a few strangers (they were sneaky!) and then it was time for us to go home. I stayed out a bit later than usual, but I had a good time. Anytime I get to go to the Great Outside is a good time!

Weekend update

Wow, it's Thursday and I'm doing the weekend update. That shows you just how lousy I've been with updates! It's all Pops' fault, really.

Anyway, we went to visit Knuckles and Aunt Jol on the weekend, and then the humans all went to the park to see some Animal Day thing there. There were lots of dogs to meet, and things to sniff. But you know what's wrong with it? KNUCKLES AND I DIDN'T GO!

How could you leave this face at home?

Our humans wanted to go cycling, and they didn't trust us to sit nicely in a basket while they cycled. They had a poor excuse, like "it's for our own safety." Hiew hiew hiew!

But later that night was fun. Grandpa's side of the family came over for dinner, and I had lots of fun with uncles and aunts, and human puppies!

It's not like I was going to bite her!
I'm a Silkese, not a pitbull!

One of the human puppies was really scared of me, because I barked once at her. I must've let some of my Dog Knight aggressiveness out by accident when I got spooked by the crowd.

But the other human puppy was pretty cool. He kept crawling around the floor, pretending to be a dog like me. How funny is that? A human puppy pretending to be a dog puppy! Although he kept calling me "wo wo" though. What's "wo wo"? Is that human-speak for "hiew hiew"?

My name is not "Wo Wo"!

Grooming day!

Oh no! I thought I was going to get an awesome pawsome car ride during the weekend, but like that squiddy guy likes to say: "It's a trap!"

I got taken straight to the groomers, and it was awful. I had my nice fuzzy fur all cut away!

Before...

I can't complain too much though. Singapore is a really really warm country, and it does make things a bit more comfortable if my fur is cut short. If I were a Sibe, I think I would just die. Of course, when my fur is cut short, I feel less naughty and awesome. I feel like a sissy little human's boy, which isn't all that cool.

I guess I'll just have to make up for it by peeing everywhere!

After!

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

Uncle Aaron came to visit!

Okay, I know I haven't been blogging lately... so sorry about that! Basically, in the last week, Pops' BFF Uncle Aaron has been in town for a holiday! Uncle Aaron normally lives in Australia, and Pops and Momma haven't seen him since their wedding two years ago. So Pops was quite excited about hanging out with Uncle Aaron again. And I was too, because I've never seen him before!

Me and Uncle Aaron

Anyway, it was pretty good to have him here. He didn't bring me any toys from Australia, but that's okay. Cos he plays with me a lot, and feeds me treats! And even when he's playing Xbox with Pops, he still takes a break to rough my fur a bit.

He also lets me get up and nap on his bed, even though he knows I accidentally pee-paw myself sometimes. That's what humans do when they like you!

It's comfy up here on Uncle Aaron's bed

Really comfy... zzz...

He's gone back to Australia now, but hopefully he'll come and visit us again soon!

Random Video Moment

Hmmm... nothing much has been happening lately. So I figure I'll just put up this video of Knuckle and I begging for waffles when I was at grandmother's place over the weekend.

Another doggy music video

I'm sure most of you guys would have seen this music video already by now, but in case you haven't, you really REALLY have to see this one. There's a whole lotta dogs, and they're so talented!!!

Sleeping in my car

Yesterday I got to visit Knuckles! On the way there, I was in the backseat with Aunt Jol and Aunt Cheryl, and well... it was a long car ride to Aunt Jol's place. I can't really remember much of the car ride though... the last thing I remember was yawning.

The night is so pretty and so young

Burrowing in my Humans' bed

I hate getting baths. It's my weekly water torture, and I hate it soooo much. But there is one good thing to come out of it, and that's being able to play on my Humans' bed after I get cleaned up!

Here I am, burrowing under the covers. Momma says I'm a rabbit-dog. That sounds a bit too much like rabid dog though... people might misunderstand and think I'm a crazed pitbull!

Thursday, September 23, 2010

Food. Lots of food!

I guess Momma must've read all those comments you guys gave about her not buying me anything from Bali, because tonight she bought me a whole lot of food!

So much food! I can't wait to eat them all!

Now one thing about me is that I'm a fussy eater when it comes to my breakfast. I get bored of kibble very quickly. No, that's not exactly true... I get bored of the same kind of kibble very quickly. As in, I'll be all happy and eat my breakfast kibble for about two weeks, but after that I'll lose my appetite and refuse to eat my breakfast maybe 4 days a week? I'll still eat treats and snacks and human food, but I won't touch my kibble.

It irritated and worried my Humans so much that instead of buying one big bag of food, they're now buying a few smaller bags of food. Now I'll get variety! Whether or not that will improve my appetite remains to be seen though...

But the Beagle from down the road has a good point about this: why don't they just give me human-food and everyone will be happy?

Pops' big DVD sale

Momma's been bugging Pops to clear some space in the room so that she can fit in, I dunno, more shoes or something. So Pops decided that he had no choice but to go through his beloved DVD collection and find some DVDs and Xbox games to sell away at a flea market that Aunt Jol was setting up shop at.

Once again, with the fleas! Why are humans so obsessed with fleas?

Anyway, Pops managed to pile up quite a big stack of old DVDs that he never watches, and some Xbox games too. Just to show you guys how many DVDs he was planning to sell, I posed with the pile so you can see the scale.

Look at all those DVDs!

Unfortunately, not many people wanted to buy these at the flea market, and most of them came back anyway. But Pops did find a way to clear space after all! The old DVDs are now living in Aunt Mainey's room.

Random Video Moment

Here's a random video of me chasing Knuckles around at Aunt Jol's place. That silly Knuckles always hides under the little table, where I can't reach him!

Also, I'd like to congratulate Salinger and Pugsley because they're getting married in a rainbow union soon! Check out the invitation and the extremely cute photo of the two pugs!

My burger dream, and a doggie nightmare

This morning, I had a dream... I dreamt that we were in a burger joint, and Aunt Jol and Momma were there, with big plates of fries and giant burgers. They were feeding each other, and then they were playing around and dropping fries and bits of burger onto the floor, where I could quickly snag them into my mouth. It was like, 5 second rule heaven! Every time I finished eating a french fry, another one would bounce off my head!

And they dropped a lot of fries onto the floor for me!

But then the worst thing happened.

I woke up.

It was just a dream!

I hate it when I get woken up in the middle of a good dream!

But sadly, for many dogs this nightmare of waking up hungry is a daily reality. There are lots of dogs out there who aren't lucky enough to have a Forever Home like many of us do, so they go hungry everyday.

Luckily, Pedigree has created the Adoption Drive to help dogs like these. Please go to Facebook and like their Adoption Drive. Just search for Pedigree, and you'll be sure to find it.

For every person that "Likes" the Facebook page, Pedigree will donate a bowl of food to a shelter! And then for every blog that writes a post about it, they'll donate more food too! So please, do the right thing and spread the word around!

Random Video Moment

So yesterday I promised a video of me snooping around in my Momma's bag. Well, here it is!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010

Momma's home!

The good news is... Momma's home! After 6000 dog years (approximately 4 humans days), Momma is finally home to cuddle me and play with me!

The bad news... she didn't buy me any new toys or snacks this time! What's with this "Bar-Lee" place? Just because they have surfboards and waves, they can't have doggy toys? That's turdley!

What do you mean, I don't get anything?

I mean, I sniffed around and stuck my nose everywhere, but there were no new toys in sight! I can't believe it! Doesn't my Momma love me anymore? Why would she go away only to come back with nothing for me?

There's really nothing?

Ah well...  and I wanted to upload a video too, but YouTube is being StupidTube and not letting me upload anything. I'll do that tomorrow. What a grumpy day...

Missing Momma...

I feel kinda lonely at home without Momma. I mean, Pops is around and he's being really nice like moving my bed near his bed so we can sleep closer together (not that I actually sleep there because he might step on me when he wakes up in the morning), but it's still just Pops and when you get down to it, I love Momma so much more.

I'll just lie here till Momma gets back.

Hmm... I'm getting kinda sleepy...

At least my ears aren't so itchy these days.
