I've got a couple of awards!

Wow! I've just received a couple of awards from Toby the Guide Dog in Training, and they're awesome!  First up is the Happy 101 Award.

The rules for this award are simple: You have to post up the image on your blog. List 10 things that make you happy. Do one of those things. Send this award to 10 of your friends that make you happy.

Well that's easy enough! Here are my 10 things:
1) Sniffing smelly socks
2) Getting some wind in my face during car rides
3) Cuddling up with my Momma
4) Chasing my Pops around the coffee table
5) Take a nap while snuggling GG the Giraffe
6) Getting a snack
7) Going for walkies in the Great Outside
8) Eating pork
9) Playing fetch and wrestling with Leo the Leopard
10) Dragging Ms Crab into my crate for some private time when my Humans aren't looking

The other award is the Sunshine Award.

This one has much easier rules. Just post it up on your blog, and then award it to 12 other bloggers. Oh, and you have to leave comments on their blogs to let them know they've got an award.

So to make things easier, I'll just do what Toby did and award these 2 awards to 12 dog bloggers. Here are my picks (though I'm sure many of them have already gotten these awards before, it never hurts to get more than one award), in no particular order:

1. The Thundering Herd
2. Dog Daze
3. Lorenza
4. Tank
5. The Army of Four
6. Twink
7. Bruschi
8. Santa & 9. Minnie
10. Patsy from Dragonfly Interiors
11. Maggie & Mitch the living plushies
12. Salinger the Pug

While I have your attention, I'd also like to congratulate Toby for reaching his goals before he has to return to school. If you guys helped out, then there's a big thank you for you!!!

Meet the Toys: Leo the Leopard

My Grandma went to Australia to visit Aunt Mainey and Uncle Eff a few months ago, and she came back with a new toy for me that I just instantly became BFFs with. This toy was Leo the Leopard!

Leo the Leopard

Leo might be based on a cat, but that's okay because he doesn't purr and meow at all. In fact, the only noise he makes is the squeaking sound when I bite into his body. I love that squeaking sound!

Leo is great because he's a bit bigger than GG, but he's got those flailing arms and legs just like GG, so I can pick him up and toss him around over and over again. It's like so totally fun. Lately he's become my sparring buddy while I train to become the Dog Knight. I still toss GG around too, but Leo is a bit more like my own size now (and he has that squeaking sound).

Tackling Leo

I know you're technically not supposed to have two BFFs, but I love them both the same. So they take shifts being my BFF. During the day, when my humans are out, I'll play with Leo. But when my humans come back and I'm snuggling with them and getting ready for bed, that's GG's time.

Well, I'm going to go and play with Leo now. See you guys later!

Check out my crib!

Ever wondered what it looks like in my room? Well, here's a little glimpse into the place that I like to hide in when Pops has caught me leaving a Golden Offering on the couch, or when Momma wants to give me a bath.

Sonic and his crib

It doesn't have its own TV or Xbox, but it's snug and smells like home. I don't usually sleep inside it though, cos I find it cozier to go outside with my blanket and towel to snooze. Or better yet, with Miss Crab and Leo the Leopard as my pillows!

I'm getting so big and strong!

So here I was, sitting in my play pen and basking in my own cuteness when I started chewing on Mr Elephant, a toy that I haven't chewed on for a while. It was then that a thought popped into my furry little puppy head: I've really grown and things are changing! Mr Elephant was the first proper toy I ever got, and he is so much smaller now than I remember him to be. I looked over to Leo the Leopard and even though I've only had him for a few months, even he's starting to feel smaller.

I started thinking about how things are changing in my life... obviously size was the biggest change. My toys are getting smaller, and I'm able to fling them higher and further. One time, I managed to throw GG the Giraffe onto my humans' bed! I'm also unable to squeeze under the couch and into all those places that I used to love crawling through (squeezing through things is a hobby of mine, especially that gap behind my Pops' back when he sits against the wall). My Momma, being the clever human that she is, made sure to get me a large enough crate when she adopted me, so luckily my room is still quite comfortable.

Oh and the stairs! I remember being so afraid of them and totally had to rely on my humans to carry me up and down, even though I hate being carried. Then I learnt how to climb them, and a few weeks after that I could go down them too. These days I'm faster than anyone in the household on those stairs!

Since I just saw Knuckles on the weekend, I thought about our relationship too. We didn't used to get along too well and fought a lot, but now that we're a bit older and more mature (well, at least I am) I don't need to pin that crazy boy down and growl at him as much anymore. He's still nuts though...

Anyway, it's coming up to my favorite time of the day when my humans get home, so I'm going to wag my tail and wait for the sound of them unlocking the door. I love that sound; it gets my heart pumping!
