My Humans are back from Bali!

So just to get things up to date, I've spent the last 10 days in misery. Well, it's nice to hang out with my grandparents and all, but they don't pamper me the way my Momma and Pops do. And they definitely don't let me sleep in their bedroom either.

When I smelled my Humans coming through the door, I was so happy that I farted three times in a row! And then pooped twice, but not in row.

It was so wonderful to have them back! I ran around in circles, I pounced on Momma over and over again, and I even occasionally showed my Pops some attention (when Momma insisted). Then they started unpacking, and that's when I noticed something was wrong, and maybe my Humans didn't love me as much as I love them.

Momma... where are my presents?

They didn't buy me anything from Bali.

No snacks, no toys... not anything. I thought maybe that was just a little mistake. But things got worse!

After 10 days away, the first thing my Pops does for me is to take me into the torture chamber and give me a bath! Why would he do that? I've been grooming my doggy smell for the past week, just to be all nice and smelly for them. Sure I had some pee-paw action going on, but that's no big deal, right?

I hiew-hiewed a lot in the shower, and did my best to hide in corners and keep away from my Pops. He got annoyed at my antics, and started telling me how lucky I was to have someone pick out my dingleberries for me, when the dogs in Bali didn't get proper baths and were poor, dirty, and hungry.

Pops says that the dogs in Bali are hungry
and poor, and I should feel very lucky.

So that was that. I didn't get any presents, and I got showered. But not everything is all bad though....

At least I get to sleep on their feet again. I like snuggling up to my Humans when I sleep.

I got an award from a new friend

Recently, I made a new friend called Boomer. Boomer gave me an award called the versatile award!

Basically I have to thank the dog that gave it to us (thanks Boomer!), and then I have to share seven things about myself. So here goes:
  1. I can summon humans by leaving Golden Offerings in their bedrooms.
  2. I have a natural talent that allows me to fart in my sleep.
  3. My farts are either stealthy or super-sonic - either way you never hear them.
  4. One last thing about my farts: I can fart with all the colors of the wind!
  5. I hate baths almost as much as I hate cats.
  6. I have a brother named Knuckles and a cousin named Tails.
  7. I love apples!
I'm supposed to give this out to 15 other dog-bloggers, but seeing as this is an award I've not actually seen in many of your blogs, I think you should all take this award so I can learn more about you guys!

Random Picture Moment

You can't tell from the picture, but I can fart and sleep at the same time. I'd teach you how, but sometimes you just have to be born talented.

I summoned Aunt Mainey!

As you guys might know, my Aunt Mainey has been in Australia for the longest time. Why she'd wanna move away from me, I don't know. But anyway, I've been performing the Human Summoning Ritual that the Beagle from down the road taught me in Aunt Mainey's room every now and then, in the hopes that all the Golden Offerings will summon her.

And you know what? It works! My Aunt Mainey came back and surprised all of us one evening! I was so happy, I farted!

Aunt Mainey and me

She didn't stay for very long though, but I did manage to play with her quite a bit. Since Momma and Pops would be out at work all day, Aunt Mainey and I got to spend quality time playing together. She even took me for car rides now and then! That was so cool, because I don't get many car rides anymore, not since Pops got his new job.

It's that dog-friendly game that you
can play without opposing thumbs

Then almost as quickly as she came back, Aunt Mainey had to go to Australia again. Boo! I tried to hide in her luggage, but Momma found me and took me out. I guess I wouldn't want to be away from Momma and Pops anyway.

How did they find me???

So that was Aunt Mainey's little trip home to visit us. Paws crossed that she'll visit again soon!

A smelly conversation

Overheard in the bedroom this morning...

Pops: Sonic, your farts smell worse than mine.
Momma: That's rubbish! Your farts are way stinkier than Sonic's.
Sonic: I don't know what you Humans are talking about. My farts don't smell bad at all!

Only humans have stinky farts.
Dog-farts smell like butter!

Farts are really Poop Bubbles

The other night, my Momma found a dried piece of poop stuck to my poopy hole fur and she had to clean it off. It was really uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially when my Pops was taking photos and laughing. But Momma got it out eventually, and I was left to wonder... how did this happen?

Momma's cleaning my poopy hole

The next day, I was talking to my friend the Beagle from down the road, and we saw these two human puppies walking down the street blowing gummy bubbles from their mouths. Suddenly, one of the bubbles popped and made a loud sound. That's when we realized that maybe farts are kinda like poop bubbles!

I mean, think about it. When you need to fart, you have to push air from your tummy out your poopy hole, right? And when you push enough air out, then it pops and makes a sound, just like a gum bubble. If there's not enough air, the fart just deflates and goes back inside in your tummy, with no smell and no sound... just like a gum bubble! But there's no gum in our poopy holes, so our fart bubbles must be made of poop!

The Beagle and I spent about 15 minutes trying to watch each other fart to check if it's true, but we couldn't squeeze out any farts. That's when we learned that a watched dog never farts. Later that day, I farted, but I couldn't see if there was a poop bubble because my legs and tail were in the way. I checked my humans' farts (Pops is a reliable source of farts), but they're always wearing pants so I can't see.

What about you guys? Do you know the truth about poop bubbles?

PS The presents are finally appearing under the tree! I can't wait to see what I got for Christmas!!!

Humans and farts

You know, when my Humans fart (especially my Pops, who farts a lot), I will always do the polite thing and sniff their butt to check out what they have to say.

But when it's my turn to do a smelly-smelly, they'll just gasp for air, laugh at me and then run away! That's so rude!!!

I can fart with all the colors of the wind

PS Sparky the dog's painting auction is expiring soon. If you want to buy a painting by a dog for charity, please head over to Sparky's blog now! While you're there, check out the awesome video of Sparky painting the picture!

Update: Sparky's painting sold for USD71! Congratulations, Sparky!

Dogs smell emotions

I know humans have lousy noses and can only smell stuff like flowers and farts (or in Momma's case, farts that smell like flowers), but a dog's nose is special and we can smell emotions. A common human saying tells that dogs can smell fear, but we can smell so much more than that... like joy, excitement, and bacon.

Lately, my Humans have been smelling kinda sad and upset. They try not to show it to me because they don't want me to feel sad too, but I can smell it. I don't know what's wrong, but I hope my Humans feel better soon.

Smiling is good for you,
even if you're taking a bath!

PS Pops' plant Lilith has yet to catch any bugs. The rest of the family is laughing at Pops because they think his plant is silly... but I think it's just because Lilith is still a little plant puppy. When she grows up, she'll be the Doberman of the plant world!

Farts McSmelly

Usually, when my Pops farts in the bedroom, he likes to frame me by saying "Sonic!" accusingly. Momma never believes him though, but he still tries cos he thinks it's funny.

Today in the car, I actually let out a really smelly one, and Momma immediately blamed Pops! Hahahahah! Suckers!
